Here's the Summer: Early music workshop with Oregon Renaissance Trio
A two-days workshop for intermediate and advanced players featuring a wide variety of fun summer-themed renaissance, baroque (and a little 20th century) ensemble music.
We will explore music by composers of various periods in both small and large group settings.
The workshop is intended for intermediate and advanced recorder players and players of early winds and strings. Some of the playing will be in separate sessions, and some in combination.
Day 1: Sat, July 14th, 10 am - 4:30 pm
Day 2: Sun, July 15th, 10:30 am - 3: 30 pm
Participants of the workshop will receive the complementary tickets to the trio's concert on July 15th, All Saint Church, 7 pm
Laura Kuhlman, Gayle Neuman, and Phil Neuman will lead the workshop. Laura, originally from the Chicago area, is well known for her capable teaching in and organization of early music workshops across the US, and the Neumans have a reputation in the Pacific Northwest and elsewhere as experts in early music, instrument design, and as skilled teachers. They have taught workshops at Columbia Gorge, San Francisco Early Music Society, Port Townsend, and Whitewater Early Music Festival.
For lunch we suggest bringing a sack lunch. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
