Soprano Eeva-Maria Kopp started her career in her country of origin, Finland, after graduating with an Opera Diploma, as well as a BMus and MMus from the Sibelius-Academy. Eeva-Maria is a prizewinner of several national singing competitions (e.g. Kangasniemi Competition, Lappeenranta Competition), and she has performed with such major companies and festivals as the Finnish National Opera, Helsinki Festival, Ilmajoki Festival, Finnish Chamber Opera, Lapland Chamber Orchestra etc. While Eeva-Maria enjoys a wide range of different classical repertoire, contemporary opera (including a number of world premieres) and art songs have played a major role in her career.
In 2013 Eeva-Maria relocated to Canada; while she still occasionally travels back to Europe to perform, she is extremely happy of the possibilities that have arisen to sing in Canada with such organizations as the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Opera Kelowna, UBCO Minds and Music and Vernon Proms among others. In addition to her work as a performing artist, Eeva-Maria is a voice teacher in high demand, as well as the Artistic Director of both Kelowna Community Music School and Chamber Music Kelowna.
