Glen was born in Kelowna B.C. but he is really a child of the prairies, having spent the bulk of his youth in the southern Alberta town of Coaldale. The strong musical tradition within his church and family led to him studying music at Canadian Mennonite Bible College, where he majored in voice and dabbled in composition. At age 25 he was lured back to the Okanagan and made his home in Vernon. Glen found his musical home in the Aura Chamber Choir where he is valued as both a member of the tenor section and as a tenor soloist. Glen has also sung with the O.S.O. Chorus and numerous other vocal ensembles, including Chorealis and the vocal trio Opus 3.
Glen has dabbled in other musical pursuits as well, most significantly double bass and guitar. Glen was already 30 when he started playing the double bass but he advanced quickly and was able to enjoy several years playing with the Okanagan Symphony. Guitar playing has been ever present in his life, starting in his teens, when he was a big fan of 60's rock and roll. It is only relatively recently that he has been exploring playing classical music on the guitar. Since 2013 he has been playing guitar and flute duets with flautist Andy Brodie as “Duo Accord.” Their repertoire consists mostly of Baroque music and Glen’s own compositions. Working out basso continuo parts on the guitar has become one of Glen's favourite pastimes.
