Gil started his musical career playing in rock bands around Montreal as a teenager. He then moved to Toronto to gain a degree in jazz performance from U of T. In 2006 he released a self-titled album of original music which is an eclectic mix of pop, jazz and rock. In 2008 he earned a degree in music education from McGill University. In 2012 Gill and his wife moved to Kelowna where he now teaches full-time as a music teacher at Rutland Senior Secondary. As of late he is focused on playing jazz again and can be found in various groups around the Okanagan including 'Wood, Wire & Fire'.
