Karmen Doucette has a wealth of chamber and orchestral experience and has performed with many professional orchestras, including the Waco Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Waco, Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, Red Deer Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and Calgary Opera.

In 2011, Karmen won the position of principal bassoon with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, where she continues to play today.

Karmen pursued her musical studies at the University of Calgary and Baylor University, where she received her Master's degree in Bassoon Performance. After spending two terms as an Artist-in-Residence at the Banff Centre, she also attained an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School at the RCM in Toronto.
